I got the idea for this one after reading an online story by a rather talented author who goes by the nom de plume, Nomdreserv.

“Not to worry,” he had assured her after seeing her troubled expression. “Actually, just a touch of lunacy can be quite beneficial in learning magic. Much easier to see beyond the ordinary. Open minded. More interesting spells. A veritable boon sometimes. And you have nothing to worry about. You seem right as rain to me now.” The fact that he had recited this benediction while organizing a package of gummy bears into parade formation (“Green has to lead,” he had informed them solemnly.) had provided little comfort.
